Description: This erect alien herb has milky sap and notched leaves. The upper leaves are strikingly reddish at the base.

Distribution: Nukne, a plant native to the West Indies, was supposedly introduced to the Marshall Islands from New Guinea, thus its name. It is now found on several atolls, usually in disturbed places and along roadsides, where it may be abundant.
