Description: This "sword fern" is known in English as the "Boston Fern." It is womewhat similar to baidik.

Distribution: This fern species was probably introduced into the Marshall Islands after European contact. It can be found occasionally in disturbed places, but more commonly grows on other plants (usually trees) as an epiphyte.

Uses: Fronds of this fern decorate buildings and adorn the heads of Ujae dancers (jōbwa). As a hanging indoor plant it is cultivated as an ornamental in some homes.
