Abstract:

Astrobiology publication signatures as interdisciplinary archaeology.

Astrobiology is inherently interdisciplinary, but actionable methods to encourage and measure interdisciplinary science are scarce. In this talk, I’ll discuss a project I undertook with the NASA Astrobiology Institute (NAI) at Ames Research Center during my Spring 2016 sabbatical to develop data-driven indicators of the interdisciplinary impact of astrobiology. The initial goal was to analyze research literature to develop a “signature” of astrobiology-related work, to map the migration of astrobiology-related terms
