Dear CIS Community,
Please join us in celebrating the election of Helen Wong Smith as the new vice president/president-elect of the Society of American Archivists (SAA). Helen is currently the Archivist for University Records for the University of Hawai`i. She is known for her work on cultural competency in archives and allied professions and conducts workshops nationally and locally. The results of her survey on the status of cultural competency for the Council of State Archivists to increase access to born-digital and digitized government records was recently released.
