CIS 720 Seminar – What is Hawaiian Librarianship?

Please join us at the CIS 720 seminar from 4:30-5:30pm on Monday, 10/4, as we welcome Keiki Meyer, who will be presenting on “What is Hawaiian Librarianship?”

Abstract:

Within the Librarian profession, Native Hawaiians have reached a state of critical mass. As a result, contributions to Library Information Science from a Hawaiian lens are being made in the practice of organization and retrieval. Researched through praxis, Hawaiian Knowledge Organization and Retrieval begins to establish the conceptual framework that will define Hawaiian Librarianship.
