13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher? |

He knows his material and gives plenty of time for students to ask questions.
He know his material very well and he can teach students in a way that they can comprehend.

He knows a lot about the topics and always explains everything with lots of details and examples. He also allows us to ask questions in order to help us understand the topic better and he cares about his students' well-being.
He really enjoys the type of work he does in oceanography and being able to share his learnings with his students.
His exams were pretty hard considering most of his questions were explannations and too many
questions for little allowed time for exams unlike what the instructor thinks. It was very difficult
especially for non science oriented students as an introductory mandatory required course. .

15. How did the instructor show concern for students? |

|
He gave complete review sessions and made sure he shared areas that he knew he would be covering on the exams and that we had a better comprehension of trouble areas.
He is very flexible. It is great that he understands certain situations that students might have and he
is very accommodating. At the same time, he still treats everyone fairly.
Went over specific information that was very important.
He always reminds us when homework is due and when our exams will be held. He always tells us to email him if we have questions and holds classes where we can ask him questions on material before the exams. He also puts his PowerPoints online for us to use before our exams so that we can succeed.
He would make sure students were on track and would make sure that we understood everything he teaches us in class.

Yes, he is fair and gives a good understanding on a introductory level of how the oceans, land and atmosphere work together.
Yes! He is a very good teacher. I like his teaching methods a lot. He explains things very well!
Yes very funny and easy to listen too.
Yes because he introduces people to the concept of oceanography interesting and makes the work easier to understand. He also posts PowerPoints on Laulima for students to use for review before exams.
Yes I would recommend to students because he is such a great teacher he is so excited about everything he teaches.

This course needs lab classes where we can see some actual exams instead of just conceptualizing in
mind.
