Sharon Chinen was born on Maui, Hawai‘i. She holds a MFA from San Jose State University, California, 1986. She was an artist-in-residence at Joshua Tree National Park, 2001, and at the Djerassi Foundation, 1987. In 1994 she received an Artist Fellowship for Sculpture from the Arts Council of Santa Clara County.

I enjoy exploring three-dimensional form—striving for qualities that evoke some deeper, undefined emotion that also contain the patterning inherent in nature.
