Congratulations are in order! Newly minted BFA student AMBER O’BRIEN was awarded a UROP (Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program) grant to attend the 45th Glass Art Society Annual Conference at the Corning Museum of Glass this Summer.

Amber is a leader in the Glass Area by having served as Chair of the Glass Art Family for a year. Her goal in the awarded project, entitled Energy Efficiency: The Future of Glass Making, is to create a comprehensive database of resources and contacts that will aid in the formulation of potential ways to decrease environmental impacts of glass making and lower the cost of operating a university level glass studio.

Follow Amber’s example!! Art students are encouraged to apply for UROP offered once a year. It’s never too early to plan. For more info go HERE.
