UH will consider implementing the following measures and base decisions by balancing the best available evidence, required resources, and benefit to keeping our campuses as safe as possible.

  • Requiring masks indoors unless you are alone or more than 6 feet away from others
  • Not allowing indoor eating in groups (i.e., breakrooms, small group sessions, potlucks)
  • Setting-specific recommendations for prevention strategies based on local factors
    • special considerations for residence halls, athletic events
    • vaccinated-only entry for those classes/settings that cannot physically distance (i.e., dance, choir, band, health professions clinical skills/settings, marine vessels, certain studio classes), HOT classes
    • LumiSight UH clearance for all dining areas/facilities or venues that serve food (at a minimum, proof of vaccination or recent negative test)
  • Re-implementing a vaccine requirement
  • Requiring “up to date” vaccination status
  • Requiring daily screening questions via LumiSight tied to compliance checks with vaccination requirement (or negative test for those with approved exemptions)

Any decision to implement any of the above measures will be widely communicated to students and employees via email, social media and UH COVID-19 website.
