Technology and Computing Services
Information Technology Services (ITS) provides a wide array of services to support the teaching, learning, administration, and research endeavors of the students, faculty, and staff of the UH community. ITS works closely with other offices across the system to meet the challenging and expanding computing and communications needs of the university.
Key technology initiatives include:
- Distance education programs developed at UH reach throughout the state and worldwide, offering new models of distributed learning.
- UH is active with the global Kuali initiative to develop open source software for higher education administration and is currently utilizing the Kuali Financial System, Kuali Coeus and Kuali Rice.
- Utilizing federal ARRA funding, UH is implementing gigabit-speed fiber optic connections to public schools, public libraries and UH facilities on all islands throughout the State of Hawaii with new high-speed connections to global research education and networks.
