Honolulu Campus, Temporary Library: Module 7A

The Honolulu CC Committee on Social Equity (COSE) and Library are showing the HBO documentary "Koran By Heart," an engaging film that follows three ten-year-old children as they compete in Egypt's International Holy Koran Competition, a prestigious Qur'an memorization contest. Snacks and talk-story discussion will accompany the presentation. Special thanks to the HonCC Faculty Development Committee and Suzume No Kai International Club.

"Koran By Heart" is part of the Muslim Journeys Bookshelf awarded to HonCC Library. Support was provided by a grant from Carnegie Corporation of New York. Additional support for the arts and media components was provided by the Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art.
