Council on Study Abroad
Council members met regularly on the second Thursday of the month. Key items for the Fall semester were the Study Abroad Fair held on the Hawaii Hall Lawn on Sept 19 and review of faculty applicants for the Summer 2013 Resident Director positions and the Fall 2012/ Spring 2013 faculty appointments. Council also had to correct the Spring 2012 External Program Review draft document. When the reviewers forwarded the draft, it contained a number of errors of fact and interpretation. That Review however did point out the excellent work being done by the Study Abroad Program in terms of students’ exposure to international understanding and faculty’s very varied site specific international research. At this point in time, the committee is doing research, meeting with relevant and interested parties, and compiling information. We anticipate having recommendations to report by the end of the academic year. Debora Halbert |
