Resolution on Reporting the Academic Performance of Manoa’s Student Athletes

Whereas, The Senate's Standing Committee on Athletics provides oversight of, among other things, "the standards for admission, retention, and graduation; the reporting of graduation rates ... and ways of supporting and encouraging the academic performance of the students athletes" (Senate Bylaws, Article IV, Section 7), be it therefore

Resolved, That the Manoa Faculty Senate calls for establishment of an annual senate review mechanism for the May 2006 Academic Plan for Athletes, or successor plans, and be it further

Resolved, That by September 30, 2007, and annually thereafter, the Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR) will deliver to the Committee on Athletics a report describing the academic performance of Manoa’s student athletes during the previous academic year.
