Welcome to the University of Hawai'i Elder Law Program

At the William S. Richardson School of Law

Celebrating Over 30 Years of Service to the University and to the Community

UHELP is an integral part of the WIlliam S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. We play a vital role in educating students and in serving the community. Our goal is to enhance, protect and preserve the  autonomy and  independence of older persons through education, training and direct  legal services. UHELP places particular emphasis on assisting older persons with limited income and assets and their caregivers. Please call (808) 956-6544 for an appointment as our staff is limited and  we cannot provide services for those without  an appointment.

Our seminars, conferences, publications and motto are showcased below in a collage of activities. Our motto, “to prepare for the worst and expect the best,” is a reminder to our older adults and caregivers that the best time to execute important legal documents is now.
