RAPS Travel Grant Guidelines

RAPS scholars are eligible to apply for a travel grant, good for up to $2000, to further their academic studies and enhance their educational program.

In order to qualify for the grant, you must provide:

  1. RAPS Travel Grant Proposal
  2. RAPS Travel Grant Completion
  3. Documentation of expenses occurred

See below for more information and links to download each of these forms, where applicable.

1. RAPS Travel Grant Proposal

The Travel Grant Proposal provides you with an opportunity to articulate the relationship between the travel and your academic program. It is essential that there be a direct and explicit connection between those two; going to another country simply because it would broaden your cultural horizons is not sufficient reason to earn the travel grant.

The Proposal also allows you to begin detailing your journey, determining the specifics of your travel, including the logistics and the budget. If approved, it is important that you save all receipts to submit with your travel completion paperwork.

RAPS Travel Grant Proposals must be submitted no later than four weeks before the intended day of travel. All proposals are subject to approval.

2. RAPS Travel Grant Completion

The Travel Grant Completion provides you with an opportunity to reflect on your travel and how it contributed to your understanding of yourself and your academic program and challenges you to consider how you will apply what you learned.

RAPS Travel Grant Completions must be submitted within four weeks of return from travel.

3. Documentation of expenses occurred

All travel receipts for reimbursement must be submitted with your itemized expenses.

Documentation of expenses and requests for reimbursement must be submitted within four weeks of return from travel.
