Robert Huey, director of UH Manoa’s Center for Japanese Studies was appointed to the University of the Ryukyus Management Council, equivalent to the UH Board of Regents. He is the first foreigner to serve on the governing board of a national university in Japan—a testament to UH’s stature in Asia.
Holiday Tree Contest
President Greenwood invites the university community to participate in a holiday tree competition. The first 12 teams to enter will create and decorate trees using recycled materials for sustainable lobby decorations in Bachman Hall on the Manoa campus. Download the pdf for details.

M.R.C. Greenwood is the 14th president of the 10-campus University of Hawai‘i System.
As chief executive officer, she works with the Board of Regents, campus chancellors and a wide range of internal and external constituencies to provide academic and administrative leadership for the state’s only public institution of higher education.
