Bernard Osher
As a distinguished community and business member, Bernard Osher is internationally recognized for his passion and commitment to improving the quality of life through education, arts and integrative medicine.
He has reshaped the landscape of retirement in the United States through his commitment to elder learning. Osher has transformed the expectations and meaning of elder contributions to society. His support has enabled older learners to enrich their lives, enhance their health and well-being, and serve their communities through his national lifelong learning network including the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UH Manoa.
His continued support to education programs at UH Manoa has benefitted the community and provided valuable opportunities for lifelong learners.
Barbro Osher
Barbro Osher is recognized for her passion and commitment to improve the quality of life through education, arts and integrative medicine.
As a distinguished community and business leader and through the Osher Foundation, she is dedicated to the support of lifelong learning at all ages. Her overall support has benefitted the UH Manoa community.
In addition, Osher’s unwavering dedication to education relating to culture and traditions is reflected through her passion in sustaining the Swedish heritage in the United States. Her leadership in furthering Swedish cultural education is an inspiration and she was recognized with His Majesty The King’s Medal, the Swedish Women’s Educational Association International Woman of the Year and the Eliason Award from the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Los Angeles.
