The University of Hawai'i at Mānoa Counseling & Student Development Center presents "Eat More, Weigh Less On the Good Carbohydrate Diet" with Dr. Terry Shintani on Monday, July 12, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the UH Mānoa Queen Liliʻuokalani Center for Student Services, Room 412.

The course, based on his book "Eat More, Weigh LessĀ® Diet," will teach participants how to stay slim and still eat carbohydrates. Participants will learn how to improve their health and incorporate Shintani‘s diet into household meal plans. In addition, participants can sample Shintani approved Zippy‘s menu items.

Shintani started the Waianae Diet Program in 1998 as a method to help improve the health of the Hawaiian people. In 1993, his program won the highest national award from the U.S. Secretary of Health.

Shintani currently serves as the director of integrative medicine at the Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center and is on the clinical faculty of the University of Hawai'i John A. Burns School of Medicine.
