UH Manoa Department of Physics and Astronomy Invites Public to Open House

The University of Hawai'i at Mānoa Department of Physics and Astronomy will hold an Open House on Saturday, November 1, that will feature displays of physics research conducted at UH Mānoa and applications of physics described by UH Mānoa faculty and students.

Guests will be welcomed at 8:30 a.m. in the HIG Auditorium by UH Mānoa Department of Physics and Astronomy Chair Michael Peters, and groups will follow a schedule until 11:00 a.m.; guests can visit sites informally from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

The event will feature demonstrations and presentations by various students and professors on such topics as, free electron laser, cosmic ray physics, physics and toys, and more. The Society of Physics Students will also be participating in the open house. Exhibits and demonstrations will take place in seven rooms in Watanabe Hall and one lab in Krauss Annex.
