The Leeward Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa welcomed more than 80 new members to the Honor Society, with 32 of the new members attending the formal Induction Ceremony held on March 15, 2014.

Chancellor Manuel Cabral welcomed the standing-room-only crowd, as the students, their family and friends filled the Ka’ala Room on the Pearl City campus. The induction featured guest speakers Peter Britos, film-writer and producer and PTK Regional Representative Christina Sapolu.

Phi Theta Kappa is an international honor society founded in 1918 for outstanding community, technical, and junior college students. Leeward CC’s chapter, Alpha Lambda Gamma, is one of over 1,000 chapters in the United States, Canada, and abroad. Leeward’s Alpha Lambda Gamma Chapter consists of 6 officers, 140 members that are current Leeward CC students, and hundreds of alumni members.
