Gallery ʻIolani presents Lineage, an exhibit showcasing artists who have made significant contributions to the strong printmaking tradition in Hawaiʻi. Curated by Erika Molyneux, the exhibition is a genealogy chart—or family tree—of printmakers, emphasizing the relationships connecting generations of artists. Artists featured in the Lineage exhibition include:

Huc Luquiens, John Melville Kelly, Isami Doi, Joe Feher, Jean Charlot, Lee Chesney, Jeff Dunn, Ed Stasack, Ron Kowalke, Allyn Bromley, Dodie Warren, Wayne Miyamoto, Marcia Morse, Laura Smith,
David Smith, Jared Wickware, George Woollard, Mike Harada,
Hiroki Morinoue, Charles Cohan, Duncan Dempster, Rob Molyneux, Vince Hazen and John Young.

The Honolulu Printmakers is the oldest nonprofit printmaking organization of its kind west of the Mississippi and is one of Hawaiʻi’s oldest art organizations. Started in 1928 by Huc Lucquiens and Alice Poole, the organization promotes the appreciation and understanding of printmaking and print production. For more information, go to lineageprintproject.
