Jus' Us, made up of three musicians -- Roland Aton, Joe Engbino and Julian Yorong -- born in the 1930's and raised on Hawaiʻi's pineapple and sugar plantations, will present a music and talk story session on Monday, February 6, from 4-5:30 p.m. at Orvis Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

Accomplished musicians in their own right, they have come together in recent years to play music they heard in their youth. Their versions of traditional Filipino standards are infused with their varied experiences — accumulated over five decades — as jazz and Hawaiian-style musicians.

Jus' Us will perform a unique blend of music (kundiman, jazz, Hawaiian and folk) informed by their varied experiences gained throughout their musical careers. They will also recount some of those experiences and speak on making music a career.

The event is co-sponsored by UH Mānoa's Music Department, Ethnic Studies Department and American Studies Department, and the Filipino-American Historical Society of Hawaiʻi.
