The University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa Homecoming Golf Tournament on Oct. 18 at Hawai‘i Prince Golf Coursein Ewa Beachwill be hosted by the UH Army ROTC Chapter. As the kickoff event for UH Mānoa Homecoming Week festivities, the tournament will honor all the UH alumni who bravely served our country and made the ultimate sacrifice. Tournament proceeds will benefit a breathtaking carved wooden Fallen Warriors Memorial and Endowment Scholarship Fund, as well as the UH Army ROTC program and the UH Letterwinners Club.

This is no ordinary golf tournament – it will be a day of patriotism combined with UH alumni pride. Before the 11:30 a.m. shotgun start, a 15-minute program will recognize the six UH ROTC graduates who lost their lives in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan to include: Tom Blevins, Frank Rodriguez, Brian Kong, Jeremy Wolfe, Nainoa Hoe and Jonathan Brostrom. UH ROTC cadets will conduct the event. There will be an official posting of the colors before tee-off, and the National Anthem will be sung by a cadet.

There will be plenty to eat and drink, including a hot lunch provided by Kevin “Two-Boots” Tate, fresh sushi by 402 Sushi, Nathan’s hotdogs, snacks and a buffet dinner. Golfers will have the opportunity to win two motorcycles from Cycle City: one for Hole-in-One and the other for longest and straightest drive. There will also be door prizes, UH helmets, jerseys, UH memorabilia, and goody bags for all golfers.
