HONOLULU – The University of Hawaiʻi’s 10 campuses will be officially closed to the public on November 27, 2009, the day after Thanksgiving. The closure is in accordance with the recent collective bargaining settlement and to reduce energy costs to meet the budget shortfall. Certain critical or time sensitive functions or specialized facilities, such as research laboratories, will continue to operate.

The university campuses will also be closed during the weeks of Christmas and New Year’s, December 21 to 31.
