The University of Hawaiʻi has hired Eastman & Beaudine, Inc., to assist in the search for a new UH Manoa athletic director. The Dallas-based executive recruitment firm was selected from a list of ten companies who submitted proposals to the university‘s search committee. The company will be involved in assembling a pool of qualified candidates for the committee to consider and will conduct background checks on candidates as requested.

"Eastman & Beaudine is one of the preeminent executive search firms in collegiate sports," said committee chair David McClain, dean of the UH College of Business Administration. "The quality of their networks in the industry will be instrumental in bringing the best candidates for the job to the attention of the search committee. We‘re especially pleased that the company‘s ceo — Robert Beaudine — is personally handling this assignment for us."

According to a company profile, Eastman & Beaudine, Inc., has in the last several years conducted recruiting for collegiate athletic directors at the U.S. Naval Academy and at West Point, Duke University, Fresno State, San Jose State, the University of Virginia and Virginia Tech, TCU, SMU, Vanderbilt, Miami University and the Universities of Louisville, Houston and Oklahoma. The firm also regularly recruits for major professional sport leagues and teams across the country.

In keeping with industry standard, Eastman & Beaudine will be paid 25 percent of the new athletic director‘s first-year compensation. The search committee has indicated that it hopes to have a recommendation for the position during the summer.
