Shidler College of Business awards 211 scholarships totaling over $735,000 for 2008-2009
University of Hawaiʻi at MānoaHONOLULU —The Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa is proud to announce the awards of over $735,000 in scholarships to 211 business students for the 2008-09
academic year. More than 160 scholarship donors and their respective students gathered yesterday for lunch at the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaiʻi to meet and interact with each
other. The annual event recognizes donors for their commitment to education.
"The number of scholarships awarded this year has increased by more than 26 percent," said V. Vance Roley, dean of the Shidler College of Business. "Through the Shidler Matching Gift Program, we received over $2.9 million in committed scholarship endowments since the start of 2007. We are grateful to those who continue to support the College and give generously to fund
scholarships. It‘s a great investment in our College and community."
Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement, financial need, specific area of concentration, community service and/or other criteria established by the donor.
