Leeward Community College offers information session on Associate in Arts in Teaching program

Program prepares students for entry-level education positions or transfer to a four-year teacher education program

PEARL CITY, Oʻahu — Leeward Community College's Supportive Teacher Education Program will be sponsoring a free information session regarding the Associate in Arts in Teaching degree offered by the college on Thursday, October 9, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Leeward Community College campus in Room GT-105. The session is free and open to the public.

Attendees will be given the opportunity to learn more about the degree and meet the instructors, counselor, and students enrolled in the program. Items that will be covered include degree requirements, support services offered to students, related clubs and activities, and financial aid options.

Leeward Community College's Associate in Arts in Teaching degree offers a solid liberal arts core and specific education classes that prepare students for an entry-level education position or for transfer to a four-year teacher education program.

Leeward Community College is celebrating its 40th anniversary with 40 events for 40 years. A monthly series of information sessions on Leeward CC‘s various programs kicks off with this session on the AAT program, and will be followed by sessions on automotive technology, television production, computer sciences, business programs, digital media and engineering.
