Former Associate Provost at the University of Baltimore Joins UH West Oʻahu as Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs

Experienced higher education administrator Dr. Linda M. Randall recently joined UH West Oʻahu as Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. In this capacity, she is responsible for overseeing all of the university‘s academic programs, curriculum and faculty development and supporting innovations in learning and teaching. Dr. Randall brings to UH West Oʻahu close to ten years of administrative experience in developing academic programs that address workforce needs in higher education at a four-year baccalaureate institution.



She provides leadership in academic and instructional activity including the creation, development and management of academic programs, policy, planning and evaluation, support services and extramural grants in instruction.



"I am pleased to join the University at such an exciting and dynamic time in its history," said Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Linda Randall. "The opportunity to continue to build on our expansion to a four-year institution plus the development of the new campus was an irresistible combination for me."



During her time at the University of Baltimore in Maryland, Dr. Randall led the university‘s efforts in creating a new lower division program and reaccreditation as a four-year baccalaureate institution. In addition to holding several leadership positions in higher education, she has published numerous articles and a book on leadership in higher education. As a member of the UH West Oʻahu‘s senior staff, Dr. Randall oversees the budget and expenditures for instruction and academic support services, assists in the development of capital improvement plans for instructional programs and interprets institutional data pertaining to university academic offerings. In addition, she coordinates and develops campus procedures for faculty personnel actions that are consistent with university policy.



A resident of Kailua, Randall earned a bachelor‘s degree in economics and political science from Swarthmore College, a master‘s degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Business and a doctoral degree in management from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. She is a member of several boards including the Women in Maryland Higher Education, an affiliate of the American Council on Education, and SRS Foundation, which provides scholarships for low-income girls to attend private schools.
