Savor sweets and spirits as the University of Hawaii at Hilo College of Continuing Education and Community Service presents master chocolatier Melanie Boudar‘s tasting tour of world-class chocolates and liquors.

This sweet and sensual pairing of gustatory ecstasy takes place Saturday, August 9 from 1-4 p.m. at the Volcano Winery and Crater‘s Edge Bed & Breakfast. Boudar will provide a brief history of both alcoholic beverages and chocolate and discuss how their distinctive flavors can complement each other and heighten the culinary experience. Boudar, owner of Sweet Paradise Chocolate and a soon-to-open shop in Kailua, Oʻahu, creates award-winning chocolate confections using exotic local ingredients such as jackfruit, guava and hot peppers.

Tuition is $45 with a $5 discount to Osher Lifelong Learning Institute members. Van transportation from UH Hilo is $8. Call CCECS at 974-7664 for registration and more information.
