Elaine Lee Joins UH West Oʻahu as Director of Institutional Research

UH West Oʻahu recently welcomed Elaine Lee as Director of Institutional Research. In this capacity, Lee manages the university‘s Institutional Research Office and conducts quantitative and qualitative institutional research by planning, directing, and organizing projects for comprehensive study in the areas of enrollment, demographics, and retention.

In addition, she is responsible for institutional data for academic program reviews, accreditation reports, strategic planning and system reports as well as monitoring ongoing student evaluations of faculty, designing, administering and analyzing surveys of current students, alumni, and other relevant constituents. She also develops timetables and analytical techniques to ensure timely completion of reports for internal and external reporting, and collaborates with faculty on assessment projects that require institutional data.

Prior to joining UH West Oʻahu, Lee worked as a Legislative Analyst for the City and County of Honolulu, an Educational Consultant for the Center for Early Education and Development at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, and for the Office of Research, Evaluation, and Testing for the Lansing School District in Lansing, Michigan.

A resident of Nuuanu, Lee holds a bachelor‘s degree in economics from Grinnell College, a master‘s degree in public policy and planning from the Hubert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, and a Ph.D. in quantitative methods in education from the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis.
