UH Mānoa hosts talk by humanitarian engineering group

Cathy Leslie, Executive Director of Engineering Without Borders — a non-profit group devoted to developing communities and contributing to the betterment of the engineering profession - will speak at the UH Mānoa campus.

Engineering Without Borders believes that it‘s time for the rest of the world to benefit from the technical expertise that the engineering profession can provide. EWB-USA is a humanitarian engineering organization that is dedicated to developing communities and to contributing to the betterment of the engineering profession. According to Dr. Paul Polak of International Development Enterprises, the majority of the world‘s designers focus all their efforts on infrastructure for the world‘s most affluent customers.

Cathy Leslie is a licensed Civil Engineer in Colorado with over twenty years of experience in the design and management of civil engineering projects. She has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Michigan Technological University. Her areas of technical expertise include transportation facilities and storm water facility design. She coordinates all facets of engineering, such as civil, geotechnical, environmental, and water quality engineering; and ensures the success and cost-efficiency of numerous projects.
