Imiloa Center partnering with Merrie Monarch Festival to offer hula workshops and demonstrations
University of Hawaiʻi at HiloʻImiloa Astronomy Center of Hawaiʻi is partnering with the Merrie Monarch Festival to offer four days of free hula-related workshops and demonstrations for guests to enjoy during the popular week-long festival and competition. Special programs are also being offered in Japanese.
From April 1 to April 4 ʻImiloa will provide opportunities for guests to learn about the history and cultural significance of the hula and its practitioners. ʻImiloa will provide hula-related programming each morning from 10:00-11:30 a.m., and 1:00-2:30 p.m. Programs will cover a wide range of topics, which are free to the public. Admission to the Center‘s exhibits and its planetarium programs require the standard admission fees.
