Supporting EALL

Continuous financial support from people like you help EALL continue its tradition of excellence in teaching and scholarship. Your contributions help to fund scholarships for promising graduate and undergraduate students to provide teaching and research resources for the faculty.

The department has established a number of funds, listed below, to which you can make your contribution. All donations are made through the University of Hawaii Foundation.

Chair’s Enrichment Fund

The Chair’s Enrichment Fund is designated for use wherever the need is greatest within the department. Donations to this fund may be used for department-wide improvements or allocated to a section with a high degree of need.

Donations to the Chair’s Enrichment Fund go through the UH Foundation. They may be made online with a credit card, or there are also a number of offline methods to give a gift.

EALL Student Award Fund

This fund allows the department to award financial prizes in support of outstanding students of EALL. Donations to the fund can be made through the UH Foundation.

Margaret Spencer Memorial Fund

This fund provides financial support for the Chinese section. The contents may be used for sponsoring events, facilitating travel to conferences, purchasing special teaching supplies, or other programs. Donations to this fund can be made through the UH Foundation.

Japanese Language & Literature Fund

This fund provides financial support for the Japanese section. Possible uses include but are not limited to Nippon Culture Day, Japan Culture Club, the Japanese Poetry Contest, hospitality, honorariums, faculty development, and other Japan-related activities within EALL. Donations to this fund can be made through the UH Foundation.
