Data Governance & Information Security at UH: How it Impacts YOU

The UH System is conducting data governance and information security campus presentations, with the Manoa session scheduled for:

The UH Manoa community is invited to attend the briefing in person or via webcast at https://www.hawaii.edu/itunesu/vlive/?s=datagov.sdp. Topics to be covered are the growing information security threats to the University and updates on data governance and HIPAA policies. Applicable UH policies include UH Executive Policy (EP) 2.215, Institutional Data Governance; EP 2.214, Institutional Data Classification Categories and Data Security Guidelines; and new policy EP 2.217, UH HIPAA Policy. The presenters will also cover the new procedure on mandatory training and continuing education requirements for data users.

A discussion will also occur regarding recent information security incidents at UH, how these policies and procedures protect the University’s sensitive information and other critical information assets, and upcoming regulations that may impact UH.
