The Ethnic Studies Department in the College of Social Sciences is hosting a conference titled "Our Future, Our Way: Directions in Oceanic Ethnic Studies†from March 12-14, 2015 at the Campus Center Ballroom. The event, which is free and open to the public, focuses on innovative ways in which Ethnic Studies is integral to community organizing, advocacy, scholarship, activism, poetry, and art. Initiating a critical and sustainable conversation about Oceanic Ethnic Studies, the conference offers exciting opportunities to meet community and academic scholars, activists, and artists, and together engage in imagining the future of Hawai‘i and Oceania.
