Engage with favorite artists, organizations, brand, and interest groups. Organize your friend list and your newsfeed for more meaningful interactions. Explore trending topics, hastags, checkins, and geotagging as you create compelling content. Requirements: Facebook profile and a familiar laptop, tablet, or mobile device to access it.

Brand New to Facebook? Come an hour earlier to learn the basic features and terms of Facebook, set-up a profile, find Friends, link privacy settings, and make your first status update.

Requirements: a laptop, tablet, or mobile device you are comfortable working on. Email access (to confirm account setup). A digital photo for your profile picture (or plan to take one that day!)

Jeela Faria is a long-time user of social media for business and pleasure. She is a graduate of UH Manoa and employee of the UH System, where she manages the university’s Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media. Her experience in journalism, online production and public relations gives her a multifaceted understanding of social media as a communication tool that anyone can use. She enjoys teaching coworkers and clients how to get the most out of social media and to have fun while doing it.
