PAUSE: Bachelor of Fine Arts Exhibition 2014

April 27, 2014 - May 16, 2014
Mānoa Campus, Art Building, University of Hawai'i Art Gallery

"PAUSE: Bachelor of Fine Arts Exhibition 2014" showcases the accomplishments of nearly 30 forthcoming graduates from the B.F.A. program in the Department of Art and Art History at University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. "PAUSE" is both the moment an artist takes to step back and reflect upon a work in progress, and when a viewer stops to contemplate a completed piece. "PAUSE" also symbolizes the end of an era and beginning of another as art students graduate from UHM and transition into the next chapter of their lives.

The work by all of the art students is a culmination of a semester-long focused exploration of professional studio practice. The Graphic Design program presents their students’ work in the Commons Gallery. The works of the students in the Studio Art program are featured at the University of Hawai‘i Art Gallery. Their pieces in ceramics, drawing and painting, electronic arts, fiber, glass, photography, performance, printmaking, and sculpture show a diverse range of ideas and techniques.
