Convergence "Happenings" & Class Schedule
October 15, 2:00pm - 3:00pmMānoa Campus, Art Building, University of Hawai'i Art Gallery
The University of Hawai‘i Art Gallery announces a schedule of "happenings" and studio classes being held in conjunction with its exhibition "Convergence: Glitch_Click_Thunk, Featuring Mark Amerika" that is on view through December 6. The public is invited to observe the processes and active convergence of new, old, and hybrid technologies.
Within the exhibition space, students and faculty from the University of Hawai‘i at MÄnoa (UHM) will be actively manipulating and printing images on litho- and letter-presses and digital printers, and operating the Computer Numeric Control (CNC) router, 3D printing and fabrication equipment. All studio areas and equipment will be simultaneously engaged and interactive during the scheduled "happenings". Connected to the printing presses, audio equipment will amplify and augment sounds of the moving machinery. Outside of scheduled "happenings", faculty and students will work in the gallery on an unscheduled basis throughout the exhibition.
All "happenings" and classes will be held in the UH Art Gallery.
