October 24, 3:00pm - 8:00pmMānoa Campus, McCarthy Mall
The third annual Ka Leo Arts Festival on Oct. 24 will feature the artistic and creative talents of dozens of students and local artists. Experience the world through an artists mind with on-site demonstrations, interactive art pieces, and live performances as the University of Hawai‘i at MÄnoa community comes together to celebrate Homecoming.
The free public event will be staged on McCarthy Mall from 3 to 8 p.m. and showcase the university’s Art, Athletic, Fashion, Theatre, and Creative Academic departments.
The Ka Leo Arts Festival will extend from the Art building, where the Art Gallery will be open, and continue with ceramic and glass blowing demonstrations along McCarthy Mall. The Innovators of Fashion will display their inspiration as models take the runway to the live mixes of KTUH DJ’s. Performers will take the spotlight on Hamilton Stage followed by UH athletes, Drum line, Rainbow Warrior Dancers, and Cheer Team.
At Kennedy Theatre UH Productions will premier short films from their annual Fall Film Challenge. Ernst Lab Theatre will showcase this season’s play, The Wild Party at 8 p.m., following short pieces performed by the Theatre Department from 3 to 6 p.m.
The Arts Festival will also host an Arts Garden located at MÄnoa Gardens at Hemenway Hall from 5 to 10 p.m. with live music and KTUH DJ’s.
Please join the students, community and alumni of the University of Hawai‘i at MÄnoa for an evening of inspiration, culture and artistic expression.
