Meroe and the African Encounter with Greece

This talk will show how archaeology has made it possible to trace this remarkable story from first contact between Meroe and Ptolemaic Egypt in the third century BC to the final disappearance of the Christian kingdoms of Medieval Nubia in the fourteenth century AD.
