Hawai‘i Edible Book Contest

The University of Hawai’i at Manoa Library invites you to participate in the Hawai‘i Edible Book Contest in the Sinclair Library Heritage Room to support of the Hawaii Food Bank. April Fools’ Day is the perfect day to eat your words and cook up a book to be consumed!
Create a delicious, edible book -- imagine a yummy version of Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel! Starting at 8:00 a.m., Edible Book entries may be delivered to Sinclair Library.
To enter the contest, (1) complete the Edible Book Entry Form, (2) bring a contribution for the Hawaii Food Bank (canned goods or $ donation), and, (3) bring your Edible Book to Sinclair Library between 8:00-11:30 a.m. The Edible Book Entry Form is available on Hamilton Library’s website on the upcoming events page.
Bring a contribution for the Hawaii Food Bank to receive an entry pass to view the Edible Book Contest.
Judging for prizes and viewing will begin at 12 noon. Enjoy a world banquet where delicious, surprising bookish foods will be consumed at 1:30 p.m.!
Great prizes will be awarded including “Most Book Like,†“Best Use of Chocolate,†“Best Book in UH Library,†and “People’s Choice.†Create something edible to represent movies or music in the Library’s collections to compete for a special “Audible Arts†Award.
