UH Rainbowtique Downtown Store Grand Opening

The University of Hawai‘i Rainbowtique will celebrates its Downtown store's grand opening from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Fri., Aug. 14, 2009. Rainbowtique Downtown is located at the Oceanic Center, 828 Fort Street Mall, Suites 100-102.

The celebration is open to the public, and will feature entertainment by Kapena, prize drawings, and special guest speakers UH Manoa Chancellor Virginia S. Hinshaw, Athletics Director Jim Donovan and football head coach Greg McMackin.

Food and refreshments will be provided by Centerplate and Pepsi Bottling Group of Hawai‘i. Billy V will serve as master of ceremonies.

A blessing ceremony, overseen by Keali‘i Gora from the UH Mānoa Kamakakuokalani Center for Hawaiian Studies, will take place at 10:45 a.m.

Rainbowtique Downtown will feature UH merchandise and apparel, ticket sales for UH events, delivery service in the downtown area, and papaya curry dressing and barbecue sauce developed by food science and nutritional science students in the UH Mānoa College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources. Also available is academic information from the UH Alumni Association, School and College Services, and Outreach College.

Rainbowtique stores are owned and operated by the University of Hawai‘i. All proceeds serve and support the UH system in its continuing educational mission.

Other Rainbowtique locations are at the UH Mānoa Bookstore, Stan Sheriff Center and Ward Centre.
