UH PRSSA Hosts "Press Release Workshop"

HONOLULU- The University of Hawai’i - Mānoa chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) will host a press release workshop for those students interested in learning one of the most important tactics for effective publicity. Amy Hennessey, APR, Vice President of McNeil Wilson Communications, will run the workshop.

Where: Campus Center Room 307
Cost: Free of charge for all PRSSA members and $5 for all Non-PRSSA members
Press releases are news stories written by public relations practitioners to inform editors or reporters about events, services or products. Public relations professionals send press releases to news outlets to inform publics as to what is happening within their organizations and communities. Those who attend this workshop will learn the fundamentals or press release writing from one of Hawaii’s most respected public relations practitioners.
The Public Relations Student Society of America is the world’s preeminent pre-professional organization for students interested in public relations. Founded in 1968 by its parent society, the Public Relations Society of America, PRSSA has grown to include more than 9,600 members at 284 colleges and universities.
