CALL FOR PAPERS
1st Annual Social Science Student Symposium.
Theme: Democratizing Academia: Bridging Discourse and Creating Change.
October 2-3, 2008.
Hosted by: Political Discussion Group and XYZ: Queer Student Union.
Either a paper or workshop proposal may be submitted.
For paper submissions: Interested parties should send both an abstract and full paper. Work should focus on local, national or global political topics (e.g. gas prices, California's gay marriage ruling, etc.), address the need for community outreach within academia and should be no longer than 10 pages. Presentations of papers should be roughly twenty minutes in length with ten minutes for questions.
For workshop proposals: Parties should send an abstract and outline of the full presentation. Workshops, like papers, should focus on various political topics, address the need for community outreach within academia and be roughly twenty minutes in length.
Submissions are restricted to undergraduate and MA-level graduate students. Limit: two presentations or papers per presenter.
