Hawai'i Bibliovision
April 1, 8:00pm - 9:00pmHawai'i Bibliovision features the penultimate event of the international symposium, “Translation: Theory, Practice, Trope.”
Organized by Cristina Bacchilega, Susan Schultz, and S. Shankar, this symposium was held at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa on January 22-23, 2007. The organizers sought to initiate a debate about translation that was attentive to our location in Hawai’i at the same time that it brought together perspectives from a variety of cultures and disciplines.
The April episode of Hawai’i Bibliovision brings you a lively conversation on translation between world-class scholar, Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak of Columbia University and other notable speakers of the Symposium, namely, Yunte Huang, Nalani Arista, and Hosam Aboul-Ela.
