The Photography Area explores photography as contemporary art practice interconnecting with other disciplines and media. Techniques and craft are emphasized along with critical inquiry, history, and theory.

Undergraduate courses span film/darkroom and digital photography. In each course students are introduced to a selection of new techniques and processes, and given opportunities to develop independent bodies of work. Our aim is provide an environment where beginning artists can hone their craft concurrently with a vigorous investigation of its meaning in the context of contemporary art.
