BA Degree with Studio or Art History Focus
The Department of Art and Art History offers two separate but interrelated BA programs. The BA with art history focus affords the opportunity to study the arts of Asia, Pacific and the West in a historical and cultural context. The BA Degree (Studio) provides students with a broad-based, liberal arts approach to a wide range of media drawn from the department's various areas.
BA Graduation Portfolio Requirement and Templates
The BFA degree in art is designed for students who desire a focused preparation in the visual arts and/or who intend to pursue an advanced degree or careers in art and design. Areas of specialization include ceramics, drawing+painting, electronic arts, fiber, glass, graphic design, photography, printmaking, and sculpture.
Students are admitted into the BFA degree program through a portfolio review held annually. It is recommended that students apply for the review the year/semester prior to graduation. Only those who are admitted can enroll in ART 410 - BFA Capstone Seminar, held every Spring. In this seminar students produce new work and collaborate in organizing the annual BFA exhibition.
In addition to Lab Fees charged for lab usage, students should anticipate additional costs for material to produce their artwork and the BFA exhibition (i.e. promotion, signage, reception, documentation, etc.)
