Coralie Chun Matayoshi
Attorney Coralie Chun Matayoshi has served as CEO of the American Red Cross, Hawaii State Chapter, overseeing statewide delivery of humanitarian services since 2003. She previously served as executive director of the Hawaii State Bar Association and executive director of the Hawaii Institute for Continuing Legal Education, housed at UH’s William S. Richardson School of Law.
A former trial attorney for the United States Department of Justice Antitrust Division and special assistant U.S. attorney in Washington, D.C., Matayoshi was also an attorney with Honolulu firm Chun Kerr & Dodd and chief policy analyst for the Hawaii State Senate Committee on Business Development and Pacific Relations.
She has served on the Neighborhood Justice Center board, KHON-TV 2 Action Line Advisory Board, Hawaii Bar Journal Editorial Board, AUW Campaign and Nominating Committees, Diamond Head Theatre Advisory Board and Hastings Law School Alumni Association Board of Governors.
She was named a 2010 Pacific Business News Businesswoman of the Year (nonprofit); has received awards from the U.S. Department of Justice, Hawaii State Bar Association and Hawaii Visitors Bureau; and represented Hawaii as the 1976 Narcissus Queen.
Born and raised in Hawaii, Matayoshi graduated from Punahou School and attended the University of Hawaii for two and a half years before graduating magna cum laude with a political science degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and completing her juris doctor from the University of California, Hastings College.
She and her husband Ron have three grown children, Scot, Kelly and Alana.
