Regent
Eric K. Martinson
With over 28 years of institutional investment and asset management experience, Martinson is currently senior vice president, endowment and chief investment officer of The Queen’s Health Systems and president of Queen Emma Land Company.
Martinson began his career at Kamehameha Schools Bishop Estate, where he served in numerous financial and investment capacities and was director of the organization’s Financial Asset Division, responsible for its diverse global financial asset portfolios. In 1996, he co-founded and became managing director of MN Capital Partners, an investment, asset management and consulting firm specializing in real estate and private equity assets and transactions. MN Capital Partners later merged with Tradewind Capital Group, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Island Holdings, Inc. where Martinson served as managing director responsible for the firm’s private equity investment activities.
He serves on the Boards of Directors of Hawaii-based solar technology company, Sopogy, Inc., and previously served on the boards of Hoike Holdings, BPA Technologies and other portfolio companies.
Active in numerous business, community and non-profit organizations, he is an Enterprise Honolulu board member, Office of Hawaiian Affairs Investment Advisory Committee member, Aloha Council Boy Scouts of America executive board member, Hawaii Imin Shiryo Hozon Kai board member, and is a member of the US-Japan Council. He previously served as chairman of the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii and served as a Hawaii Business and Entrepreneur Acceleration Mentors business mentor and was a member of Kamehameha Schools Board of Advisors, Na Pua a Ke Alii Pauahi Board of Directors and Polynesian Voyaging Society Board of Directors.
Born and raised in Honolulu, Martinson is a graduate of Kamehameha Schools and obtained his BBA in finance at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and received his MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
He and his wife, Jarnell, have two sons, Cody and Cole.
