Laulima A ‘Ike Pono: Research Internship at He'eia Fishpond

Through a grant from the National Science Foundation, the Hawaii Institute of Marine Biology and Department of Oceanography at UH have partnered with Paepae o He‘eia to offer paid research internships at He‘eia fishpond in Kaneohe. Research will focus on the biological and geological processes in the fishpond being studied by UH scientists, and will be integrated with eco-cultural knowledge and practices to provide interns with a holistic learning experience.

Six-month Internship rotations run from July – December and January - June
$2000 stipend for 200 hrs (4-12 hrs per week)
All ages over 17 welcome as interns
Preference given to Ko'olaupoko residents
College application assistance available
Intern must provide own transportation to the site
